  • Overview

    We have an immediate opening for an SAFe Agile Specialist (Release Train Engineer) to provide support to the Global Combat Support System-Marine Corps (GCSS-MC), PMW 230, who supports the modernization and sustainment of Marine Corps supply and maintenance functions through the development of a web-based common user interface that provides an integrated and distributed logistics capability enabling leaders to effectively plan, manage, execute, and monitor logistics operations from both a garrison and a forward deployed environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide guidance in Agile, Release Train Engineer, Scrum, and SAFe; lead Agile delivery teams to deliver value consistently
    • Facilitate ART events and processes and assist teams in delivering value. Communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risks and dependencies, and drive relentless improvemen
    • Participate in Lean-Agile transformation, coaching leaders, teams, or Scrum Masters in new processes and mindsets. Help configure SAFe to the organization’s needs, standardizing and documenting practices
    • Work with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment with AGILE SAFe framework and methodology
    • Escalate and track impediments
    • Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks
    • Encourage collaboration between teams and System and Solution Architects/Engineering
    • Work with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
    • Work with the Government and development teams to institute and integrate Agile framework concepts into Release Management activities and processes
    • AGILE development for MVP (Continuous Delivery Pipeline). Guidance to operate in a SAFe framework and to do Continuous Delivery Pipeline in a SAFe Framework
    • Plan and facilitate Program Increment planning
    • Facilitate Scrum meetings; generate key metrics (e.g., burn-down, burn-up charts, flow diagrams)
    • Plan, coordinate, and execute Governance boards, such as Change Advisory Board (CAB) and Change Control Board (CCB)
    • Define the Services and underpinning Service Assets and Configuration Items (CIs); implement/maintain a Configuration Management process for maintaining data as aligned to services within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
    • Manage Request for Change (RFC) processes, Change Management, standardize processes, and identify, prioritize, plan, schedule, and monitor implementation

    Qualifications

    Required:

     

    • Active Secret Clearance
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
    • 4+ years’ experience leading SAFe Agile teams as Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Release Train Engineer
    • Must obtain SAFe Certification within six months of hire (company paid training).
    • Experience with Agile software development methodology, specifically SAFe
    • Skilled in project management and engineering technical management techniques, principles, and practices
    • Ability to work independently and within a technical team environment with geographically dispersed team members
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Experience designing and implementing a cross-platform CM framework
    • Experience with forming and/or running Governance Boards

    Desired:

    • ITIL Foundations certification
    • Project Management Professional certification
    • Experience supporting DoD acquisition programs
