  • Overview

    The Project Engineer will be the primary liaison between the network vendor, Claimants, and Program Management Office process owners and competencies to ensure networking infrastructure build outs are executed on time, within technical specifications, and meet customer expectations.

    Responsibilities

    1. Will work with SO, LE's and Claimants to coordinate network installations and network implementations across DON
    2. Provide hardware and design installations support for large project
    3. Implementations
    4. Must have the ability to both work in a fast paced and dynamic environment on short term projects and the ability to work on longer term projects requiring extended planning time
    5. Excellent customer/client management skills and techniques - internal and external
    6. Ability to collaborate within a team environment, while meeting strict deadlines and keeping the overall project on schedule.
    7. Maintain and develop project plan in conjunction with the service provider; track all risks, issues, mitigations and report status on weekly basis.
    8. Familiarity with Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) and other Navy network environments
    9. Project Engineer will support independent government assessment of the technical (including productions and implementation risks) associated with project/solutions under review. Responsibilities also include close coordination of activities with stakeholders Service Providers, and the Program Management Office.
    10. Work on multiple engineering projects and manage discrete tasks.
    11. Work closely with the client and provide support at briefings and design reviews.
    12. Work independently in a multitasking environment.
    13. Support solution costing initiatives; be able to document cost elements including price quotes, and capture cost information using design proposal overviews.
    14. Identify process improvement opportunities.

    Qualifications

    • Experience with Network Design and Infrastructure
    • Experience with Hardware Installs and configuration
    • Have a strong grasp of Computer Science/Information Systems.
    • 7 + years of network infrastructure and installation experience
    • Must have an Active Secret security clearance.
    • Must have SecDevOps knowledge
