Overview

Falconwood is a small woman-owned company providing consultation and programmatic support to Department of Defense Information Technology (IT) initiatives and programs. We provide expert advice and consultation on a diverse range of IT subjects, focusing on acquisition, policy, cybersecurity, engineering, and process development. 

The Database / Web Developer will support USFF by providing technical support for requirements analysis, data analysis, software development, programming, systems testing, implementation, quality assurance, configuration management and backup / recovery support. This includes analyzing information requirements and performing system oversight and administration; developing reports to support management needs; developing and implementing user interface menus to support; and generating ad-hoc reports. 

Duty Location:  This position requires presence onsite with the client at the Naval Support Activity (NSA) Norfolk, VA.

Responsibilities

Job Description

  • Work with key Navy stakeholders and users to identify and translate program requirements into web-based dashboards.
  • Serve as front-end web development support leveraging JavaScript and associated frameworks to deliver data management, integration, and visualization applications to help solve key client challenges.
  • Duplicate existing Microsoft Excel/Access solutions in a more robust server/database model.
  • Document architecture and business rules of these products to ensure sustainability by a third-party.  
  • Integrate web solutions with SharePoint portals and report capabilities.
  • Create and maintain asset and portfolio management dashboard(s) that automate the data extraction, integration, analysis and reporting processes across multiple systems to support rapid analysis and assessment of IT purchases requests, and their impact to the mission and budget. Systems include PBIS-IT, Command Financial Management System (CFMS), Standard Accounting and Reporting System – Field Level (STARS-FL), SABRE and NAV-ITAS. The dashboard shall include incorporating information such as assets, systems, circuits, applications, software, hardware, data centers, A&A/C&A, financials, networks, and seats.
  • Sustain, and improve the integrated dashboards, enabling effective decision-making at the Flag/SES level.
  • Provide design and technical support, assistance, and training for data management, analysis, interoperability, database/dashboard design and development, data standardization and maintenance.
  • Create and update Access Databases and or dashboards on SharePoint 2016 to capture, query, and report on metrics and requirement status and push/pull data and information from multiple sources and systems.
  • Maintain dashboards on SharePoint 2016 (to include future software iterations) and databases tracking and reporting financial and asset data with PBIS-IT and NAV-ITAS for USFF and subordinate commands.
  • Perform requirements analysis, data analysis, programming, systems testing, implementation, quality assurance, configuration management and backup/recovery support.
  • Analyze information requirements and system oversight/administration.
  • Document source code.
  • Implement relational databases.
  • Manage information and develop reports using database management capabilities.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or Information Systems Management and three (3) years’ experience or six (6) years’ of specialized experience conducting requirements analysis, designing, developing and administering database applications.
  • Proficient in developing and implementing web applications and SharePoint solutions using Microsoft SQL, ASP.NET, C#, Visual Studio, PowerShell, CSS, JSON, XML, jQuery, Java Script, HTML, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Designer.
  • Proficient in the installation, configuration, and management of virtualization technology such as Hyper-V and VMware.
  • Proficient in Microsoft products and VBA.
  • Proficient in implementing STIG and IAVA.
  • Experience in writing technical and user operating procedures.
  • Experience with Implementation of relational databases.
  • Experience with Managing information and developing reports using database management system.
  • Experience with cloud-based apps and development in the Azure environment including the use of Azure DevOps, App Service, and the Azure Portal.
  • Experience with Microsoft Access database 2013 (newer versions).
  • Knowledge of current DOD or DON Cybersecurity policies.
  • Ability to manage efforts and deadlines of multiple projects concurrently.
  • DoD Cyberspace work role: Software Developer (621); proficiency level: Intermediate IAW DoDM 8140 series.
  • Other certification(s): Microsoft certification
  • Obtain CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional) within one year of hire.

Pay Range

$75,000 - $85,000
