Falconwood, Inc. is a woman and veteran-owned business providing executive-level consultants and programmatic support to Department of Defense (DoD) IT initiatives and programs. We offer expert consultation across a diverse range of IT disciplines, including acquisition strategy, systems engineering, cybersecurity, and cloud implementation. 

We are seeking a Senior Engineer Technical Advisor to join our Assistant Program Executive Officer Engineering team. This role will serve as a strategic engineering resource, offering high-level guidance on current and emerging technologies while contributing hands-on support during Agile program execution when needed. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical advising and subject matter expertise on systems integration, emerging technologies, and enterprise architecture 
  • Evaluate legacy systems and recommend modernization strategies, including decommissioning opportunities 
  • Support Agile Release Trains (ARTs) on an ad hoc basis with hands-on technical input 
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop network strategies, roadmaps, and assess technical feasibility of initiatives 
  • Assist with technical assessments and recommendations across disciplines such as Software-Defined Networking (SDN), cloud architecture, 5G wireless integration, AI/ML applications, and ICAM solutions 
  • Participate in solution reviews and architecture working groups to support enterprise-wide IT decisions 
  • Stay informed of DoD technology standards and trends to inform future-state planning 

Qualifications

  • Must hold an active Secret clearance 
  • Must meet DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II requirements (e.g., Security+ or equivalent) 
  • Proven Subject Matter Expertise in at least one technical domain (e.g., Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Cloud, AI/ML, Platform Engineering, Wireless Engineering, or ICAM) 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure products 
  • Familiarity with Network Modernization, including Cisco products (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.)  
  • Requires an active Secret security clearance and the ability to obtain SIPRNet access. 
  • Demonstrated experience in network administration within a Classified environment 
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and ability to support Agile Release Trains 
  • Experience administering and maintaining SIPRNet infrastructure, including servers, network devices (routers, switches, firewalls), and associated equipment   
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially when advising cross-functional teams 
  • Must be able to travel approximately 10% of a year 
  • Experience supporting IT modernization or transformation efforts within a DoD or Federal environment 
  • Knowledge of systems integration, network design, and legacy-to-modern transitions 
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, Zero Trust) 

Pay Range

180000-185000
